Naked and Afraid

Day of Discovery

There is nothing more soothing than staring at the mesmerizing dance of Jelly Fish.  But I'm not so interested in soothing and mesmerizing anymore.

I have spent my whole life standing in one spot or another and never getting anywhere.

Today was my first day out of that place . . . you know the one . . . where you are stuck in the drudgery of work and nothing interesting ever seems to happen.

So I have struck out on my own.  I plan to discover new worlds as I embark on the adventure of a lifetime.  I'm ready for excitement and meeting new people.

Perhaps someday I'll even tell you how I made my great escape!  For now, I am lurking around the Monterey Bay Aquarium and you wouldn't believe the strange looks I keep getting from the other patrons.  It's like they've never seen a mannequin before.

I try to introduce myself, "Hi, I'm Merida.  Isn't this place great?"  But everyone just walks away from me.  I guess we don't speak the same language.  Something I will have to work on - learning the language of the local peeps!

I thought things were gong great until I asked someone to take my picture next to these gorgeous jellies.  I explained about my new, grand adventure and that I would love it if she helped me photograph my first visit to an aquarium.  The lady seems nice enough . . . maybe a tiny bit shy.

After she returned my camera to me, she quietly whispered, "wouldn't it be even better if you donned some clothes for these outings?"  Wait . . . what!  CLOTHES!?!  The humiliation and embarrassment set in and I tried to hide in one of the stairwells.

Well . . . how the heck did that happen?  With a sigh, I realized I was going to need some help.  I picked up the phone and tearfully called my nearest LuLaRoe consultant.

"I need you"  I cried.  I explained where I was and why I had run away.  I could tell she was frustrated by my disappearance from her home but she didn't let me down.

"Come home and we will find a way to make this work."  So after my first day of discovery, I headed home with the hopes she would let me live my dream of traveling the world.

   Here is to HOPE!!!
